DESCRIPTION:Ballot Measure #1 (19OGTX)\nAlaska’s Fair Share Act Initiative Hearings\nThe Office of the Lt. Governor has scheduled several public hearings on Ballot Measure #1- Alaska’s Fair Share Act.  Ballot Measure #1 is scheduled to appear on the General Election Ballot on Tuesday\, November 3\, 2020. \nPublic hearings are required under Alaska State Statute 15.45.195 a law passed by the Alaska State Legislature in 2010. Traditionally\, initiative hearings are held in person in various locations around the state\, but due to precautions relating to COVID-19 all public participation will be done telephonically. \nEach public hearing will consist of a statement of support from the proponents of the ballot measures and follow with a statement of opposition from the group opposing the measure. The public will then be allowed to call in for the remainder of the hearing to ask questions. Tune in September 15 for an informative call-in program. \nDr. Mark Meyers moved to Anchorage in 1983 as an exploration geologist with ARCO Alaska. Over the next 2 decades he worked for major oil companies and for the state of Alaska as a petroleum geologist. He served in the Air Force Reserve retiring as a Lt Colonel.  In 2001 Mark was appointed Director of Division of Oil & Gas\, and later Director of Division of Geological and Geophysical Survey\, and State Geologist.  In 2006 President Bush appointed him to the position of Director of the United States Geologic Survey.  Mark served under Governor Parnell as Alaska Natural Gas Inducement Act Coordinator and under Governor Walker as Commissioner of Natural Resources.  From 2011-2015 he was the Vice Chancellor for Research at UAF.  He is now in business for himself as a consultant on energy projects around the world for the US Departments of State\, Energy\, and Interior. \nhttps://www.radiokenai.net/listen-online/ \nHost: Jesse Bjorkman and Bob Byrd \nKSRM 920AM – call or text in line 907-283-5811 \n
